Werder Bremen is in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup.
At second division Jahn Regensburg, Bremen won the catch-up game 1-0 (0-0).
Yuya Osako scored the winning goal (58th minute).
The original quarter-finals on March 2nd had been canceled due to Corona cases in Regensburg.
Regensburg had won its previous cup games on penalties, most recently against Cologne in February.
In the first half against Werder the game seemed to come down to it again: In the light Regensburg snowstorm there was no real chance to score, the Regensburg mascot in the stands was to be pitied.
The starting phase of the second half made up for a lot: Werder's Milot Rashica put a shot from the edge of the penalty area just past the left (46th), Regensburg's Andreas Albers just lifted over the gate (48th) and Niklas Moisander, who defended the injured Bremen center-back Ömer Toprak slipped into the starting line-up and headed the post after a corner (50th).

After Werder had tried a flat structure in the first round, after the break they sat on flying balls into the penalty area.
Marco Friedl played a diagonal pass to the penalty spot in the 52nd minute, which Osako let drip from his chest, with the second contact he hit the left corner (52nd).
Another deep pass, this time from Moisander to the chest of Sargent, who hung up for Osako, could have been the preliminary decision for Werder.
But Regensburg keeper Alexander Meyer stormed out of his goal and steered the ball to the corner (67th).
Werder dominated the game for a long time, but had to tremble again in the final phase.
Albers missed the greatest chance to equalize in the 90th minute.
