2021-04-07T15:28:47.387Z

Bilbao and Amsterdam, two of the twelve host cities of the next Euro, communicated on Wednesday to UEFA their willingness to host respectively

UEFA had set Wednesday as the date for the 12 host cities to submit to the European body their support plan for Euro 2021 this summer (June 11 - July 11).

After Rome on Tuesday, Bilbao and Amsterdam have announced their ability to welcome spectators at the next Euro, as imposed by UEFA on each of the cities.

On the side of Bilbao, we expect 13,000 spectators hosted in San Mames (53,300 places in total), if the rate of contamination and the occupancy of hospital beds remain within the limits set by the local health authorities.

Spain are scheduled to play all three of their group matches at the Athletic Bilbao stadium.

🏟️ San Mamés will be able to accommodate 13,000 spectators during Euro 2020, in other words 25% of the total capacity.

Amsterdam, meanwhile, hopes to welcome at least 12,000 spectators during the four matches scheduled at the Arena Johan Cruyff (55,000 seats in total), according to the Dutch Federation (KNVB).

The latter specifies in a statement to hope "to welcome more spectators", but that "if the pandemic were to worsen in June, the number of spectators could be revised downwards".

Amsterdam is due to host the group matches for the Netherlands team against Ukraine (June 13), Austria (June 17) and North Macedonia (June 21), as well as a round of 16 on June 26.

On the other hand, Dublin made it known, through the voice of its Prime Minister Michael Martin, that there was a risk that no spectator would be admitted to its stadium.
