Last Saturday this season finally started at the energetic level.

The corona era and the long days without crowds were everything but the real thing.

There were league managers here fighting for existence, media trying to generate interest, fans caring about the networks, teams counting Corona infections and trying to postpone games, and the Ministry of Health running the business.

When they approved the introduction of 1,500 spectators to the pitches, it moved something but still the atmosphere was relatively weak.

In the pre-season round, when the two played more or less in parallel - the Greens against Maccabi Petah Tikva and the Yellows against Beer Sheva - to watch the broadcasts from Haifa and Bloomfield brought back the adrenaline of real football.

An intriguing championship battle and energies that every Israeli football fan has kept subconsciously since that amazing 3: 4 last season.

And for the game itself: it seems that Maccabi Haifa is going through a regular routine in games with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Haifa is no longer in this situation.

The Greens will come to Ashdod in the next round, to a game that is a milestone for them regarding staying in the race in general.

Stumbling will close out three top playoff games without a win, and that may not be enough against the current Maccabi Tel Aviv.

In general, if you look at Haifa in relation to Van Leven's Maccabi, it makes a lot of sense that it will record more games than Tel Aviv in the remaining games, and it is not certain that winning this season's game in Bloomfield will be worth first place for it.

Regardless, after the three meetings this year, it's hard to see her beat Maccabi Tel Aviv at Bloomfield and make a comeback.

The gap between the teams is just a point, but mentally it feels a lot more, especially at the level of pressure the teams have gotten into.
