Erding - bathing fun and rapid slides are associated with the Erdinger Therme.

Hockey is currently being played there - provided that the incidence values allow it.

Inline hockey, to be precise.

And of course not in the swimming pool, but in the parking garage.

You just have to be inventive.

Due to the corona, the thermal bath is currently closed.

She makes the car park empty three times a week available to the Erdinger ice hockey players.

For the first time, the Young Gladiators, who lost an entire season due to the pandemic, can chase after the target in the outdoor area in addition to online training.

The thermal baths are perfect for the young puck hunters.

The parking garage is open but covered.

The flooring is suitable for inline skaters, and the space is so large that training can be offered privately in small groups with sufficient distance for many children.

"As a precaution, all hygiene regulations were worked out in order to be able to adhere to the Corona requirements during this private training as well," explains Franz Bittel, 2nd ice hockey department head at TSV Erding, who set up the project with the Erding Young Ice Hockey Club .

“It is not possible for the children to play on ice skates as they do with their favorite sport, ice hockey, but they can go back to their sport for a while with inline skates and enjoy something normal,” says Bittel.

The first training sessions with children up to 14 years of age were a complete success.

In addition to the trainers and volunteers, the TSV was also happy about the support of the Gerst family, who provided the toilet facilities in the adjacent mobile home park.

In addition, the Therme Erding provided all children and trainers with drinks and glucose, "which was simply fantastic for all children and all relieved parents," continued Bittel.

“Of course, everyone is hoping that Therme Erding will soon be able to open its doors again.

The laughter of our children and the joy were just priceless.

If Corona has something positive, it is that such willingness to help is just beautiful. "
