Euro 2021: Budapest targets 100% of the stadium's capacity for the two Blues matches

The two matches of the French team in the first round of the Euro, against Hungary and then Portugal in Budapest, could be disputed


Good news for the supporters of the France team with tickets for Euro 2020 which will take place from June 11 to July 11.

The city of Budapest, host of two Blues matches in the first round against Hungary (Saturday June 19 at 3 p.m.) then Portugal (Wednesday June 23 at 9 p.m.), is aiming for 100% of the stadium's capacity, but with strict access conditions for spectators, UEFA said on Friday.

St. Petersburg and Baku have confirmed gauges of 50% while Amsterdam, Bucharest, Copenhagen and Glasgow will open 25% to 33% of their stadiums.

London have confirmed a tonnage of at least 25% for the first three group matches and the round of 16 match.

The English capital will also host the semi-finals and the final.

The cities of Bilbao, Dublin, Munich, the scene of the Blues' first match against Germany on Tuesday, June 15 (9 p.m.), and Rome have until April 19 to provide additional information on their plans.

Final decisions will be taken on that date regarding the organization of matches at four venues.

The decisions were made by the hosts of the competition.

The key indicator was the projection of an improvement in the health situation in the countries concerned.

Many factors were taken into consideration, including the roll-out of vaccination at the local level, plans for an economic restart and the seasonal decline in the influence of the virus in summer.

In many countries, the Euro was already part of a national recovery strategy.

No quarantine in Hungary for French supporters?

UEFA warns supporters that there are nevertheless entry restrictions at the borders and requirements imposed at the time of travel and that no exemptions will be granted to ticket holders.

It may be the obligation to quarantine, to provide a negative result for the Covid-19 test, to limit the length of stay ... In some cases, entry into a host country from abroad can be totally banned.

Supporters of the France team holding a ticket to a match in Budapest should not be subject to quarantine.

Other restrictions, such as two negative Covid-19 test results, remain applicable.

Fans who want a refund can do so from now on the UEFA ticketing portal until 22 April.

In the event of a change of venue or the impossibility of accommodating spectators in a stadium, special arrangements will be made for the purchasers of the tickets.

Once the ticket reimbursement phase is over, UEFA will know if the number of tickets exceeds the number of supporters allowed in the stadiums for each match.

If so, a raffle will be held to determine which tickets will no longer be valid.
