Nano Ginzburg's new project: The senior Israeli coach has summed up his terms with the Ukrainian Premier League side Kamyansk on a contract for a season and a half, Israel Today has learned for the first time.
Kamyansk Permits is a new group founded in 2018 and owned by a Jewish billionaire named Vladimir Dubinsky.
Club leaders interested in investing large sums of money to build a strong team that will dominate Ukrainian basketball in the coming years as well as rise to the map of European basketball and compete in various enterprises.
To that end, they recently contacted the Israeli coach to come and build a project similar to the one he has built (along with Molly Katzourin and Oren Amiel) for the past 15 years in Nymburk.
Ginzburg (57) left for the Czech Republic in 2006 to serve as Katzourin's assistant after coaching Bnei Herzliya, AS Ramat Hasharon, Bnei Hasharon Herzliya (with whom he qualified for the State Cup final) and Elitzur Givat Shmuel.
In 2010 he was appointed head coach of Nymburk until he decided to leave in 2017.
In 2013 he accepted the prestigious position of coaching the Czech national team and is responsible for all the young national teams.
Two years later he led the team to its record achievement at the European Championships when it reached seventh place and in 2019 it finished sixth at the World Championships held in China.
Simultaneously with working for the Ukrainian team, the Israeli coach will continue in his role in the Czech national team and in the summer will try to qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo through the pre-Olympic tournament.
Next year the Czechs will host in Prague one of the houses at the 2022 European Championships.
