The Repsol Honda team announced the (good) news this Saturday morning.
After nine months away from the circuits because of a very heavy fall, Marc Marquez, 28, was authorized by a medical team to "resume competition".
According to the press release, the examination carried out by the medical staff of the Ruber Internacional Hospital, where Marquez had undergone surgery four months ago for an infected pseudarthrosis of the right humerus, shows "a very satisfactory clinical condition (. ..) In the current situation, it is considered that the patient can resume competition, assuming the reasonable risk implicit in his sporting activity.
"
The Spaniard, six-time MotoGP world champion, could therefore potentially participate in the next Grand Prix, scheduled for April 18 in Portimão (Por).
His team say they are “satisfied with the bone consolidation process” but the driver's case will be definitively settled next Thursday.
"Marquez will travel to Portugal where he will undergo a medical check-up before taking part in the Grand Prix weekend once he has been authorized," said Repsol Honda.
"I will finally be able to enjoy my passion again"
Even if nothing is definitively acquired, the person concerned did not hide his joy.
" I am very happy !
I visited the doctors and they gave me the green light to resume competition.
It has been a difficult nine months, with times of uncertainty, ups and downs, he wrote.
I will finally be able to enjoy my passion again!
See you next week in Portimão!

The return of the Catalan, who will have missed only two Grands Prix in 2021 will revive a championship dominated for the moment by the French Johann Zarco (Ducati Pramac) in front of his compatriot Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha Monster Energy).
In reverse order, the two men offered France its first double in the category since 1954 on April 4 by stepping onto the podium in Doha.
It was precisely during another Quartararo victory, last summer in Jerez (Esp), that Marquez had his accident four laps from the finish after a first off the track and a crazy comeback.
