Tops / Flops Strasbourg-PSG: Mbappé remains on his cloud, Sels badly inspired

2021-04-10T17:43:32.469Z

Mbappé's match in line with that against Bayern, Kean's good return to form and Sels' poor performance… Find the Tops and Flops of this match between Strasbourg and PSG (1-4).

Tops

Kylian Mbappé on his momentum

Positioned once again at the forefront of the attack, the Parisian did not disappoint.

In line with what he offered us last Wednesday against Bayern Munich, Kylian Mbappé has never done too much.

Always fair, confining himself to his role of striker of spaces, he had the intelligence not to multiply unnecessary gestures or to carry the ball too far from the opposing goals.

The temptation must however be great in the absence of Neymar.

Very sharp, he was rewarded by opening the scoring on his "special" (16th) and an assist for Moïse Kean (45th).

Bodes well three days before the return match against Bayern.

Moïse Kean, in the right tempo

Returned at the end of the match against Bayern last Wednesday, Moïse Kean seemed to be in physical pain when he had just recovered from the Covid-19.

This Saturday, the Italian reassured everyone: the former Turinese is doing very well.

Generous in the defensive effort, he was also inspired in his offensive races as on his goal just before the break, well served by Mbappé (45th).

A good score from the player loaned by Everton who could claim a starting place Tuesday against Munich.

Flops

Matz Sels, a hole in the wall

The Belgian doorman did not deliver the most successful performance of his career this Saturday.

He is first at fault on the opening of Mbappé's score.

Sels let the ball slip between his legs despite the very closed angle in which the French striker was.

If he can not necessarily do better on the next two achievements, he is not exempt from all reproach on the free kick scored by Paredes (79th).

Yet slightly off-center on the left, he places his wall on the right side.

A rather surprising decision that the Argentine punishes directly.

Thierry Laurey, too optimistic

If wanting to play high against a supposedly better opponent is commendable, you sometimes have to know how to stop the bleeding before it gets out of control.

Thierry Laurey had definitely come against the Parisians with game intentions. But like Lyon, PSG is formidable against and as against OL at the start of the season, Strasbourg found itself behind 3-0 at half-time .

The French technician may not have made tactical adjustments because of the good possession of the ball of his men but which exposed them even more to the responses of PSG.

A failed bet.
