Eight months after leading the Champions League final between PSG and Bayern Munich (Parisian defeat 1-0), Italian Daniele Orsato (45) has been appointed by UEFA to referee the return quarter-final of the queen competition Tuesday at the Parc des Princes (9 p.m.).
He will be assisted by Alessandro Giallatini and Fabiano Preti.
If he had not brought luck to the partners of Neymar and Mbappé in Lisbon last summer, his behavior and his decisions did not, however, raise any specific complaints from the two teams.

Daniele Orsato has already crossed paths with PSG in the Champions League in the past, and these are often fond memories for Parisians.
He had notably refereed the duels against Manchester United in 2019 (Parisian victory 0-2), where he had distributed ten yellow cards and expelled Paul Pogba at the very end of the game, and last December (1-3) during the fifth day of the group stage.
During this meeting some had criticized him for not having expelled Fred for a butt hit to Leandro Paredes.
A decision without consequence on the result.
Further in the past, the Italian had also held the whistle during the cardboard of Paris on the lawn of Celtic Glasgow in September 2017 (0-5).
Once again a good memory for PSG.
The Italian is also considered one of the best international referees, which probably explains his presence for this crucial match which will deliver a sesame for the last four of the Champions League.
