The image of the 3rd division could be better - but they are doing their wrong, as this season shows again.
And yet: Everyone wants to leave the league, including TSV 1860 and Türkgücü.
The third division clubs like to bring a lawsuit that their league leads an unworthy existence, financially hardly sustainable, conceptually in the professional / young talent nowhere, half-heartedly looked after by the DFB.
In fact, the image of the third division could be better, but that is unfair, as a cross comparison of the three professional leagues shows.
Does the DFL have a competition in which the champions (Bayern II) are in dire straits and the championship leaders (Dresden) lose out on the taillights (Haching)?
Transferred to the Bundesliga: It is as if FC Bayern lost at Schalke 04 at the weekend, while three other teams suddenly came first.
Golden oldies, a moody diva and a runner-up on the bench
The 3rd division is also so much fun because the four teams from the greater Munich area in particular provide entertainment.
The lions were written off in the promotion battle as the Hachinger in the relegation battle, before victories over the League Primus Dresden released new strength.
Team spirit and the mixture of Art Nouveau and Golden Oldies (Mölders here, Hain there) make it possible.
Or Türkgücü: Recently also at the front, now on the way to becoming a moody diva - with just such players (Sararer, Sliskovic).
Bayern II finally: The previous year's champion is in crisis, but at least managed to avoid any unrest - by moving forward in the coaching bench, on which there is now even a runner-up world champion (Martin Demichelis).
Will it do anything?
That's the nasty thing about this 3rd division: You just can't feel safe anywhere.
Four relegated teams create pressure - just like the promotion mode, which will result in one and a half losers with currently four applicants.
The winners are the TV viewers, who can look forward to a treat this Saturday too: upstart Türkgücü against old master 1860, all in the venerable Olympic Stadium.
Third league will be on the packaging, and it will contain first-class entertainment.
