The Denver Nuggets are seen this season as a team that can and should reach the decisive stages of the playoffs, but tonight (Tuesday) aspirations to touch the ring suffered a severe blow when the club announced that team star Jamal Marie has actually finished the season.
Marie, who injured his knee in the last minute in the loss to Golden State, lay on the floor for the last few minutes, groaning in pain and after being examined early in the morning it became clear that the guard was suffering from a tear in the cruciate ligament and will not play again this season.
This is a not-so-simple blow for the Nuggets especially in light of Marie’s great season, which until this morning recorded an impressive stat line of 21.5 points (47 percent from the field, 40 percent for 3), 4.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

After the game and even before the fateful tests, Nikola Jukic realized that he would have to play until the end of the season without the guard next to him: "Jamal is a great fighter and I'm sure he will struggle with that injury as well.
