Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said midfielder Matteo Kovacic will miss the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley next Saturday due to his suffering from a hamstring injury.
Reuters quoted Tuchel as saying in a statement to reporters, "He suffered an injury during yesterday's training in the hamstring muscles after almost 20 minutes had passed without a reason, and he will definitely miss City's match as well, and this is a big loss."
Tuchel put his player on Ngolo Kante instead of Kovacic, and the French player played the whole match after returning from a muscle injury.
Kovacic has already missed a match that ended with a 1-0 loss to Porto in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final yesterday, but Chelsea qualified 2-1 in aggregate and will wait for Real Madrid or Liverpool in the semi-finals.
