Forever the first!
But certainly not the last.
Among the twelve founding members of the very controversial Super League, the English Manchester City have decided to throw in the towel.
In a laconic statement of a few lines, the future opponent of PSG in the Champions League has officially announced that he is withdrawing from the project.
"Manchester City Football Club can confirm that it has formally promulgated the withdrawal procedures for the group which is developing plans for a European Super League," the Manchester City club said on its website.
An about-face that could imitate clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Barça or Atlético de Madrid, also announced on the verge of officially leaving a project that turns into a fiasco.
Slovenian UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin immediately said he was "delighted" to see Manchester City leave the Super League.
