At the end of one of the most turbulent days of European football, and possibly on the continent of Europe itself, factors outside the industry have also begun to comment on the collapse of the Super League initiative.

"I welcome the statement made last night," British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted last night, "this is the right result for football fans, clubs and communities in our country."

Johnson, 56, has been British Prime Minister since July 2019.

During this period he led the Brexit move, a shake-up in itself in the world in general and in the world of football in particular, the results of which have not yet materialized on the ground.

"We must continue to defend our esteemed national game," Johnson tweeted, paving the way for leaders of other countries to join statements calling for the abolition of the Super League.

I welcome last night's announcement.

This is the right result for football fans, clubs, and communities across the country.

We must continue to protect our cherished national game.

In the meantime, John Henry, owner of the FSG corporation that controls Liverpool football club, posted a 2:30-minute video to Twitter in which he apologized to the team's fans for the move.

Henry is almost exclusively responsible for the success of the club he acquired in 2010 on the verge of bankruptcy and brought it back to the top of European football.

In one of his depressing performances in front of a camera, Henry apologizes to the team's fans, whose extremists have begun a campaign calling on him to leave the club.

The 71-year-old Henry signed an agreement about a month ago with investment firm RedBird that would give Liverpool an imaginary economic power, one that its fans only dreamed of in 2010 when their club breathed what then seemed like its last breaths, until his arrival.
