The first game of a German club in the quarter-finals of the EuroLeague ended dramatically and bitterly from Munich's point of view: Bayern Munich's basketball players lost an 18-point lead in the first quarter-finals with Italy's top team Armani Milan.

Coach Andrea Trinchieri's team lost 78:79 (44:27) on Tuesday evening and thus missed a big step towards the final four in the "best of five" series.

Zach LeDay scored the crucial two points for Milan with one second remaining.

Dennis Seeley got 23 points for the long dominating Munich team.

After a balanced first quarter, the guests from Munich gradually took control of the game and in the meantime moved away by 18 points.

In the second half of the game, the guests were able to at least keep the game open, although Milan got stronger.

Bayern entered the last quarter with a 13-point lead.

But there they lost their accuracy, the hosts came closer and closer and took the lead for the first time shortly before the end of regular time.

Munich countered this deficit again, but LeDay finished a second before the final siren with a lay-up to victory.

Bayern, who were the first German team to reach the quarter-finals in the European premium class, are now under pressure in the second game on Thursday, also in Milan.

The final tournament will take place from May 28th to 30th in Cologne.
