Alex Plabst, head of sport and trainer of SE Freising, is working on the squad for the new regional league season.

There are some departures, but also two newcomers.

Freising

- The 2019/21 season is about to be canceled.

Because of the corona pandemic, it is in the stars when training and games in the amateur area are possible.

Regardless of this, the footballers at SE Freising are already setting the course for the future.

In view of the current situation "we can fully concentrate on the planning for a new regional league season", says coach and sports director Alex Plabst.

Plabst and Bittner continue

The 53-year-old was able to sort out the most important personnel issue with himself: After the placet had come from the club, sports director Plabst entered into negotiations with coach Plabst - and came to an agreement very quickly.

Co-trainer Florian Bittner (30) also accepted immediately.

That was a sentence, reports the football boss.

“We both feel very much at home here.” The cooperation worked splendidly in the first season.

With Bittner, Coach Plabst has an extended arm on the field - and the team in turn has the necessary leading player, who had lost in some seasons in the Savoyer Au.

“That was done quickly,” the two did not have to think long about whether they wanted to continue the successful work on Roider-Jackl-Weg.

Davydov wants to kick higher class

This means that the two SEF coaches can fully concentrate on the squad for the new season. And there will be, it already looks like, some personnel changes. Above all, the departures of two service providers will weigh heavily: Both captain Andreas Schredl and Nikolai Davydov will not be available to SE Freising. The farewell has sporting reasons, especially with offensive player Davydov: The 23-year-old is in the extended squad of the Kyrgyz national team and was most recently at the training camp in Belek. But those responsible at home expect Davydov to play higher than in the national league. “A would-be consultant is currently working on him and his father again,” reports trainer Alex Plabst. The Davydov family has currently commissioned Freising's coach to look for a new club for the Filius, at least a regional league, in Germany or abroad.

Schredl is taking a break for professional reasons

Andreas Schredl will not be available for at least one year: The 29-year-old captain of the SEF will start training as a tax advisor in the summer, the training and game effort of the regional league cannot be reconciled with this.

The pass remains in the Savoy Au - and if necessary, Schredl could help out.

"But the loss hurts us," Plabst admits without further ado.

Schredl was almost never injured, he is Freising's "Mister Reliable" and one of the best defenders in the national league.

"Above all, his high level of self-motivation was extreme," praised Plabst.

"We'll have to compensate for that somehow."

Gädke moves to FC Ismaning

In addition, Daniel Gädke will no longer be part of the SEF squad: The striker and the club are mutually separating for the new round - Gädke is looking for a higher-class challenge from the start after six goals in 20 matches and a few games.

As heard from FC Ismaning, the 26-year-old is joining the Bayern league team for the new season.

Robert Rohrhirsch (23) will not be available for the whole of 2021, who traveled back to the USA to study in January and is only supposed to join the SEF team again afterwards.

Sebastian Hofmaier (25), another defender, will say goodbye to the new season.

Hofmaier is still injured - whether and where he will intervene again is open.

Important players remain loyal to the SEF

On the other hand, there are contract extensions that let Coach Plabst forget about the departures.

Goalkeeper Patrick Negele (28) has confirmed for another year - regardless of where he is being transferred as a teacher.

“That is a very important factor for us,” says Plabst happily.

In addition, striker Andreas Hohlenburger (29) has finally cured his injury and also extended it.

“You could see how difficult it is for us to score goals without him,” remembers the coach.

Michael Schmid (36) will also continue to lace up his boots for the SEF.

The oldie in the team remains part of the coaching team, but should also help out on the pitch again and again.

Two new additions are already fixed

Furthermore, the Freising can already present two newcomers for the new regional league season.

With Lukas Paunert comes a hopeful and talented defensive player from league rival Eintracht Karlsfeld.

The 20-year-old had a “sensational school” at Eintracht, enthuses trainer Plabst, “I'm glad we were able to win him over”.

Paunert can be used variably in the back four - "he can become our Schredl replacement".

Benedict Geuenich changes from TSV Jetzendorf from the Landesliga Südwest to SE Freising.

The 26-year-old has 29 district and four regional league goals in the Vita and is offensively at home in many positions.

“It was my turn for two years,” says Plabst of the striker.

"So I'm all the more pleased that it is now working."

Freising's personnel planning is not yet complete.

Another man for the offensive wing should join the squad as well as a stable player for the back row.

In addition, the Lerchenfelder want to rely more on their own offspring and established staff.

"It will be an exciting task to form the new team," said Plabst, looking forward to the new season.
