The cyclists of the RVN Freising diligently collected kilometers and meters in altitude during a challenge.

The balance after 35 days is truly impressive.

Freising

- The pandemic currently does not allow club training.

This is why even the small and large cyclists from RVN Freising can only pedal individually or with the family.

It's especially fun when the training can be combined with a challenge - and that was a complete success with a view to the kilometers and meters in altitude.

The task at the first spring challenge of the RVN Freising was to cover as many kilometers and vertical meters as possible on a mountain bike, racing bike or roller trainer within 35 days.

A total of 35 participants from the age of four took up the challenge.

The result is impressive: Adding together 13,850 kilometers and 106,096 meters in altitude came out.

That corresponds to the distance from Freising to Perth in Australia and twelve climbs up Mount Everest.

Virtual challenge on the classic ascent to Alpe d'Huez

The evaluation was divided into mountain bike kids and adults.

The children Tobias Remmele (70.74 kilometers) and the big ones Konstantin Huber (142 kilometers) cycled the furthest in one day.

In the category “Who does the most vertical meters in one day?”, The kids Ida Siebrecht, Egon Siebrecht and Tobias Remmele faced a virtual challenge on the classic ascent to Alpe d'Huez in France.

Tobias even made it a little further and higher and also secured first place here with an altitude of 1,396 meters.

Among the adults, Tina Heun-Rattei and Karl Trenz dueled for the most vertical meters on the virtual ascent to Mont Ventoux.

Ultimately, Trenz (1525 meters) won ahead of Heun-Rattei (1508).

Also strong: Georg Wechselberger mastered 1350 meters in altitude.

Tasty reward for hardworking cyclists

Most of the total kilometers in the Challenge cycled with the kids Tobias Remmele with 543.42 and with the adults André Storl with 1255.8 kilometers - closely followed by Andi Remmele, who reached 1133.14 kilometers. In terms of total altitude, Egon Siebrecht shone with 6704 altitude meters for the young mountain bike riders, and Ines Siebrecht (13 140), Karl Trenz (11 233) and Norman Siebrecht (10 098) achieved the best values for the big ones. Kai Storl (20 times) and Linda Helm (19 times) got on the bike most often during the 35 days for the kids. In the adult category, André Storl (29 times) was ahead of the game, while Emilia Kirner was not far behind with 25 times.

Regardless of the numbers, the conclusion is very positive, the rating “Who had the most fun in the challenge?” Definitely goes to all participants.

As a reward for their commitment, the athletes are happy to receive ice cream vouchers for the Garda ice cream parlor in Freising.

The calories are sure to be burned off quickly on the next tour.
