The clubs behind the Super League, even if most of them have changed their minds, risk paying dearly for their sling.

Their supporters anyway are angry and they show it.

This Thursday, Manchester United fans blocked access to the club's training center in protest against the Glazer family, owners of the club.

The latter had taken an active part in the aborted Super League project.

Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to address the 20 or so supporters who had forced the security cordon and blocked both entrances to the training center.

The demonstrators waved banners on which was written in particular "Glazer out".

The manager and others spoke to them.

Buildings were secure and the group has now left the site.

"Around 9 am this morning, a group entered the club's training center," the club said in a statement.

“The manager and other people spoke to them,” add MU officials, specifying that the site was “secure and that this group of supporters then“ left the site ”.

Fans protested despite Joel Glazer '"wholehearted" apology on Wednesday for the club's involvement in the dissenting European Super League project, which he finally abandoned on Tuesday.

But these excuses do not seem to be enough.

As a reminder, the Red Devils were part, with 5 other English clubs, 3 Spanish and 3 Italians of 12 teams which wanted to create a rival European competition of the Champions League, but in which 15 of the 20 places would have been reserved every year for the founders. Presented on Monday, this project was abandoned Tuesday evening by the “Big 6” English, after strong political and sporting protests, but also vehement reactions from supporters of the clubs concerned.

Very unpopular since taking control of the club with his family via a debt buyout in 2005, Joel Glazer is often criticized for the results which have only declined since he became the 100% owner ( 2012). This season, Manchester United were eliminated in the Champions League group stage by PSG and had to console themselves with the Europa League.
