Many are suffering these days.

It is also difficult for amateur footballers not to pursue their passion.

Ex-Leo Christian Köppel gives the amateurs strength and hope.

Augsburg

- Christian Köppel enjoyed his football training at TSV 1860 Munich. Since his contract with the Blauen was not extended after the 2018/19 season and expired, he moved to 1. FC Schweinfurt 05. It was only a short interlude, only a year later he left Lower Franconia and joined FC Augsburg . For him it is not a matter of course to be on the pitch and indulging in his passion. This is another reason why the defender turns to you, dear amateur footballers, via suburb / Fupa Oberbayern: “One day the time will come again when you can go to the field, after work, after school, and just play football with your buddies . “Unfortunately, it is not yet known when this day X will come. But the 26-year-old knows one thing for sure: "The day will come!"

#ohneamateurekeineprofis: Christian Köppel with motivating words - the subtitles to read along:

Hello guys, dear girls, dear boys, this is Köppi!

I want to encourage you to persevere and not lose the belief that you can play football again, together with our friends and buddies.

Without any rules or things to watch out for.

It's really worth it!

Yes, thank God I have the privilege of being at FC Augsburg 2. We can train and I'm really so grateful to be able to get up every day and know, hey, I can play football, it's my job.

I am allowed to pursue my passion and in this phase now, I appreciate it like never before, because many friends of mine, many ex teammates, they are not allowed to do that, maybe many of you too! That's why I know how valuable this football is. And, as I said, I would like to encourage you not to lose the hope of being able to play again yourself, because I think it is not worth giving up or writing off football. Football can trigger emotions in us that cannot be compared! Regardless of whether you mourn because you lost a game or missed the decisive penalty or because you and the whole team are cheering at the corner flag and scoring another goal in stoppage time. I think these are emotions that don't exist in normal life and that's why it's so worthwhilenot to lose sight of this vision.

On Instagram I often read "The Beautiful Game" and it really is such a wonderful game and so don't lose hope, believe that one day the time will come again when you can go to the field, after work, after the school, you can just play football with your buddies, then maybe have a drink in the clubhouse, but will come again and let's be grateful when this time comes again! Simply for everyday life, for a perfectly normal everyday life, where we can kick freely, run after the ball and have fun with our friends. I think it's worth waiting for that. I also hope to be able to play against one or the other one day and that's my motivation. Stay tuned. The clubs will thank you.Stay healthy, best regards, your Köppi.
