Liverpool FC suffered another setback in the battle for the Champions League places. The English football champions came on Saturday against Newcastle United after a late goal only to a 1-1 (1-0). Liverpool, as sixth in the Premier League, missed the leap to fourth place with 54 points for the time being, which still entitles them to participate in the premier class in the coming season. Most recently, the Reds had not come more than 1-1 against newly promoted Leeds United.
Jürgen Klopp's team, which had dominated for a long time, took the lead in the third minute.
Striker Mohamed Salah made the Newcastle defense look bad and scored after a spin to make it 1-0.
The Egyptian missed the second goal before the break when he failed in front of Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka (37th).
Liverpool was punished for it in stoppage time when Joe Willock made the equalizer (90 + 5).
In front of the stadium, some Liverpool fans called for the removal of main owner John Henry and his Fenway Sports Group with posters before kick-off after the failure of the Super League.
After massive fan protests, all six English founding members, including Liverpool FC, recently distanced themselves from the Super League.
