Inter one step away from the title, Juve still hanging on

2021-04-26T20:58:15.868Z

Winner of Verona (1-0), Inter Milan has taken another step closer to the league title. Juve stuck in Florence (1-1).

Inter Milan, delivered by Matteo Darmian (76th) against Hellas Verona (1-0), is only one step away from his first scudetto since 2010 while Juventus still disappointed on the ground of the Fiorentina (1-1), Sunday during the 33rd day of Serie A. Inter has provisionally thirteen points ahead of Milan (2nd), traveling Monday night at Lazio Rome and on Juve (3rd), and fourteen on Atalanta (4th), host of Bologna on Sunday evening. This gap, five days from the end, makes possible a coronation of the Interists from next weekend. After two draws (Naples, La Spezia), Inter returned to victory in a fairly balanced match that Darmian unlocked at the entrance of the last quarter of an hour, on a service from Achraf Hakimi.

The collective explosion of joy of the Nerazzurri and their coach Antonio Conte was equal to the relief of a team which had shown a bit of tension so far. Hakimi stumbled on the goalkeeper (17th) and found the post on a free kick (69th). Verona also had some great opportunities but did not negotiate a few blocks.

Juventus continues its course on alternating current, long dominated in envy by Fiorentina and a little muddled in the second half. La Viola first found the post by Erick Pulgar (21st) before opening the scoring quite logically, on a cold-blooded penalty from Dusan Vlahovic (29th) after a hand from Adrien Rabiot in the box. Alvaro Morata, launched in the resumption in place of Paolo Dybala, took only a few seconds to equalize with a nice kick of the left foot to ... Dybala (46th). But the Turinese have not managed to put a second, Cristiano Ronaldo, not successful these days, not transforming a boiling ball (84th). Juve, still on a wire, are now threatened with leaving the Top 4 if they win.Atalanta in the evening and Napoli on Monday against Torino.
