Ness Ziona players and club members celebrated into the small hours of the night the historic European Cup win after last night's (Sunday) 74:82 victory over Polish Stal Ostrov.

Hundreds of fans gathered in the town square in Ness Ziona and celebrated for over an hour the victory together with the players, the team management and the mayor Shmuel Boxer.

At the end of the mass celebrations, the players went to one of the bars in the Tel Aviv port while the team management, the professional staff and some fans close to the club gathered at Cafe Ziona, one of the club's sponsors.

Coach Brad Greenberg said during the festivities: "These players have lifted the whole country to its feet and they have made history, they have a lot to be proud of, I'm proud of them. I was lucky to be in a lot of different teams and hats over 40 years or more, I have a lot of memories, It will enter the memory pool as a significant memory.

"I appreciate it more because of the effort of the players, we were a team that was not stable enough even in its effort, and we changed something before five games, it catches itself. I feel very good that we are at this point, and I am proud of the players."

A great drama was recorded at the club last Tuesday when the doctor informed captain Tal Dan that he had actually finished the season due to a hand injury.

The veteran forward insisted on finding a way to carry two more games and after efforts from the medical staff the solution was found.

In time he managed to open his head during the semi-finals and yesterday in the final he played with stitches in his head.

In the coming days he will undergo surgery and return only towards the start of next season.

"Tal has a history with Ness Ziona," Greenberg said. "He grew up in the city, he played for the club almost all his life, he feels a special connection and commitment to the club, to our loyal fans. Our fans are our family, he feels a commitment to represent the best team. "It was possible. It was important for him to play, he just wanted to play. His teammates respect him, because they know that when they are on the field, he will fight for them. It is contagious. He has an impact on the team."

Wayne Selden, who was selected as the Outstanding Player of the Final Four, mainly thanks to his heroic performance in the semi-finals said: "It's great, I've struggled with injuries in recent years, I'm blessed Ness Ziona and Greenberg Feels great. "

Nimrod Levy, who finished as the outstanding scorer of the final, said: "I am happy, no words. I went through a difficult period, I did not play due to injury, but I always believed it would come. This moment is tremendous. We felt the whole city behind us, all this week and all season. That the game came to me, I prepared for these moments and took responsibility. "

Lior Carrera, who was the X Factor off the bench and in fact Haifa for Dan's lack, added: "Everyone who plays basketball dreams of being in this class. I knew I had to bring my energies and that's what I did. Tal Dan is a man and a wholehearted person, there are no words to describe him. There is warmth and love here, from the chairman to the players. We all love being with each other. There is confidence and quiet here to work and see the results. It's a dream for me. We drew a lot of energy from our fans. I tell all the children out there that they have a dream, keep chasing it and stick to the goal. "
