The change from coach Julian Nagelsmann to soccer record champions Bayern Munich is on the way.
Nagelsmann has asked the club management of RB Leipzig for the early termination of his contract, which dates to 2023, according to consistent media information.
Allegedly, RB is demanding a transfer of around 25 million euros for the coach, who is considered the preferred candidate in Munich to succeed Hansi Flick.
This is reported by the »Kicker« as well as the »Süddeutsche Zeitung« and the »Bild« newspaper.
Immediately after the 2-0 win on Sunday against VfB Stuttgart, Nagelsmann had denied a new status on the subject.
"There is no new development," the 33-year-old had said.
He had previously made it clear that "no war" would start with his current employer if Bayern were to show a concrete interest in him.
Krösche goes in any case
RB Leipzig definitely has to look for a new sports director.
Markus Krösche and the Bundesliga team go their separate ways.
After “intensive discussions about a common future”, the club and Krösche “both sides came to the conclusion” to end the cooperation and to dissolve the contract, which runs until 2022, at the end of the season.
"Of course we are prepared for this situation and will tackle the goal of qualifying for the Champions League with a powerful squad in the coming season," said managing director Oliver Mintzlaff.
Christopher Vivell (Technical Director) and Florian Scholz (Commercial Director) will take over Krösche's tasks until the end of the season.
Ex-professional Krösche moved from Paderborn to Leipzig in 2019 as the successor to Ralf Rangnick.
Krösche was also repeatedly discussed as a candidate for the managerial position at league competitors, first at Schalke 04 and now at Eintracht Frankfurt.
