True, Danny Abdia finished the season due to injury, but the performance in the best basketball league in the world must continue.
No fewer than 11 games were played tonight (Monday through Tuesday) in the NBA, and the focus was on breaking the winning streaks of the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks.
Abdia's team, which came into the game against San Antonio after eight straight wins, enjoyed the return of Roy Hachimura and hoped to equal the club's all-time record.
But the Spurs had other plans.
Damar Druzen (37 points and 10 assists) missed an opportunity to decide the match - and the teams went into overtime, where the visitors stood the test and won 146: 143 - their seventh victory in the last ten games.
Jonathon Marie scored 25 points, dropped 17 rebounds and handed out 5 assists for the Spurs, while the Wizards enjoyed 45 points from Bradley Bill (sixth time this season with 40 points or more), who overtook Steph Kerry in the basket king table.
Russell Westbrook was also great with a triple double (22 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds).
Another team that stopped tonight after nine wins is the New York Knicks.
Devin Booker scored 33 points, Michelle Bridges added 21 of his own, and Chris Paul's stunning last quarter set up a 118-110 victory for Phoenix at Madison Square Garden.
Other results: Detroit - Atlanta 86: 100, Orlando - Los Angeles Lakers 114: 103, Philadelphia - Oklahoma City 90: 121, Toronto - Cleveland 96: 112, Miami - Chicago 110: 102, Minnesota - Utah 104: 105, New Orleans - Los Angeles Clippers 103: 120.
