The baseball players of the Freising Grizzlies have spruced up their ball park for training and games.

Now Corona just has to play along.

Freising

- When it can start is unclear.

But the base and softball players of the Freising Grizzlies are already well prepared to resume training and play for the 15 teams outside of the 1st softball league.

Because, for known reasons, no joint labor service was possible in spring, the Grizzlies were forced to do all work and beautification measures in mini and family groups in accordance with the corona.

And meanwhile, as the space construction coordinators Steffi and Rainer Ströll report, “one can say as a conclusion: It went sensationally well”.

Most of the work is done

Volunteers were quickly found for all tasks - and for the most part everything is already done: Georg Gerzer has holed up in the old snack pavilion for the whole winter and carried out a thorough renovation there.

It feels like he's there every day to push his desire for an MLB-worthy ballpark.

But that's not all: the BBQ team has brought its place up to date.

The Gross family filled up a whole container of rubbish - and Johannes Lohmaier takes care of the softball field, which will be used again from May 1st.

Lots of helping hands

In addition, some urgently needed measures were implemented at the baseball field - from the new home plate and a new pitcher rubber to the renovation of batter's boxes and mound.

Furthermore, the dugouts have just been paved and renovated.

Robert Naujokat got the pavement, and Markus Kaiser and his crew laid it.

Sandra and Ladi Hart did the new paint job for the dugouts professionally.

Last but not least, the squares were sanded up and freshly rolled.

Mike Bökel was responsible for the regularly mowed lawn.

And many other volunteers have also made their contribution.

Good to know

You are not yet allowed to visit the places because of the pandemic.

But at least in the Grizzlies live stream on YouTube on Saturday, May 1st, the softball court can be admired: The Bundeliga women will meet the Tübingen Hawks at home at 1pm and 3:30 pm for the season opener.
