The affair of the rape of Cristiano Ronaldo continues to hover over the head of the Portuguese star.

Last night (Wednesday) it was reported in the British "Mirror" that the complainant Catherine Maiorga filed a civil lawsuit against the Juventus player, who was previously suspected of raping her in a hotel room in Las Vegas in 2009.

The rape charge was finally dropped in 2019, but Maiorga claimed to have received silence from Ronaldo. The lawsuit details how that night caused her "irreversible" mental damage.

She is suing Ronaldo for 20 million euros for mental damage she has suffered in the past, which she said caused her to avoid social interactions and hurt her livelihood, 20 million for "future suffering" and another 20 million euros for libel against her, following media reports against her.

She is also suing Ronaldo for legal expenses.

Ronaldo, who earns 32 million euros a season at Juventus, has not yet responded to reports.

The affair began after Maiorga, a resident of the United States, claimed in an interview with Der Spiegel that the Portuguese had raped her.

The woman told the magazine that she was attacked by the then Real Madrid star at a hotel in Las Vegas in 2009. She claimed that after spending the evening with him while on vacation with her family, he asked her and her friend to join him and his friends in the hot tub.

When she went to change clothes, she was surprised to see that the star came to her for a naked shower, and asked her to touch his penis and have sex with him: "When I said I was not ready, he started begging me to touch him and put his penis in his mouth."

According to the suspect, after that night, Ronaldo paid a silence fee of $ 372,000.
