Villarreal took a small option for qualifying for the Europa League final by winning at home against Arsenal (2-1).
At the Ceramica stadium, Trigueros (5th) and Albiol (29th) found the net for the Spanish team led by Unai Emery but the Gunners scored an important goal away thanks to Pepe (73rd) from the penalty spot.
Note, the expulsions of Ceballos to Arsenal (57th) then Capua (80th) in the Spanish camp.
The return leg is scheduled for May 6 at the Emirates Stadium in London.
