The former Stade Toulousain rugby player is entering politics: he will be part of the list led by outgoing PS president Carole Delga in the regional elections in Occitanie.

Former international (73 caps) and emblematic player of Stade Toulousain, Yannick Jauzion has been running a company selling food supplements, Jardin d'Occitanie, since 2010.

He will be number 3 on the Occitanie list in common in the Tarn, his native department.

“I had never been involved in politics, I do so as a member of civil society, I want to be in local action, on the ground.

I am not in the ideology, I want to get involved for the general interest ”, told AFP the former three-quarter center.

Guy Novès' son, Vincent Terrail-Novès, on the list supported by LREM

"I like his vision of agroecology, his local roots, his knowledge of the agricultural world and of sport, he has a great experience to bring us", explained to AFP Carole Delga, who underlines that he figures " in an eligible position ”.

During the regional ballot on June 20 and 27, Carole Delga will notably have as opponents the RN Jean-Paul Garraud, the number 3 of LR Aurélien Pradié and the son of the former Stade Toulousain coach Guy Novès, Vincent Terrail-Novès, whose the list is supported by LREM.

Yannick Jauzion, 42, retired from rugby player in 2013. This son of farmers from Tarn and an agricultural engineer then felt the need to “cut back from sport”.

In addition to his business, he is also involved in viticulture, a cuvée of Gaillac wine bears his name.
