The FC Chelsea with the German coach Thomas Tuchel moved back into the Champions League final for the first time since 2012.
After the 1-1 draw at Real Madrid in the first leg, Chelsea won the second leg in London 2-0 (1-0).
Timo Werner scored the opening goal (27th minute), Mason Mount the decision (85th).
With that, Chelsea ensures an English final in the premier class;
on Tuesday, Manchester City had already celebrated the move against Paris Saint-Germain.
The second semi-final determined Chelsea from the start.
The defensive against captain Sergio Ramos, which was plagued by injuries recently, had its problems with the fast Chelsea players, especially with midfielder N'Golo Kanté, who sometimes initiated attacks, sometimes concluded himself.
Karim Benzema was twice dangerous for Real when goalkeeper Edouard Mendy first scored a twisting shot by the striker (17th) and then held a header (26th).
In between, however, Werner of all people brought the Londoners into the lead: After a combination via Kanté, Kai Havertz first lifted the bar, Werner dusted his head from a few meters (18th).
The German international had missed the first leg from a very short distance and was then exposed to a lot of scorn, especially in the social networks.
Only the exploitation of opportunities did not fit
And in other respects, almost exclusively Chelsea became dangerous and there were some great opportunities.
Just a few minutes after the restart, Havertz headed the crossbar (47th), then Mason Mount (54th) and Havertz (59th) failed in front of Courtois.
Although his team played the Madrilenians apart, Tuchel could not be satisfied just because of the exploitation of the chances.
Especially since only one goal would have resulted in an extension.
The luck of the Chelsea offensive was once again the strength of the defensive.
Only once did Real approach the opposing goal in a dangerous way, Eden Hazard failed with a shot at Mendy (64th) from an acute angle.
Otherwise, Zinédine Zidane's team did not make it dangerous in front of the goal because of the strong defensive Chelsea, in the 24th game under Tuchel the team remained without conceding for the 18th time.
Rather, Mount succeeded in preparing the substitute Christian Pulisic for the decision (85th).
