Will the name of Ed Sheeran soon appear in large numbers on the jersey of the players of Ipswich Town, this club with a glorious past but fallen back into League One, the English third division is the equivalent of our National?
The British pop star becomes the club's new shirt sponsor in the city of Suffolk, north-east London.
This is where the singer grew up and has always been a staunch supporter.
"The club is an integral part of the community and it's my way of showing my support," he said on the club's website, which only occupies 11th place in League One.

Neither he nor the club are yet to say how his support will materialize.
Not sure that his name appears on the back of the jerseys instead of that of the players.
Ed Sheeran will undoubtedly find a more subtle solution.
But in the meantime, it is mainly the money - even if the sum of its contribution is not communicated - which interests the club: “I have always appreciated my visits to Portman Road, the team's stadium and j I look forward to going back as soon as supporters are allowed to enter the stadiums again.
With the arrival of the new American owners, there will certainly be some exciting times ahead for Ipswich fans, myself included.

The Ipswich Town Football Club is a name in the English league.
Founded in 1878, it is one of the oldest clubs on the planet.
The club won the UEFA Cup in 1981, ten years before the birth of its new patron and was champion of England in 1962. But he has not appeared in the Premier League since his descent, after the 2001-2002 season.
The club was bought in early April by American investors Brett Johnson, Berke Bakay and Mark Detmer who also own the American franchise of Phoenix Rising (2nd American division). "We're obviously delighted that Ed has agreed to become our jersey sponsor next season," Town sales manager Rosie Richardson said in a statement. I have hosted Ed and his guests at Portman Road for many games. He has shown his support for his city where he grew up in many ways and this is another example of that. We can't wait to see Ed - and all the other supporters - back at Portman Road next season. "
