France team: the Blues in Strasbourg and Lyon in September

The FFF announced on Thursday that the France-Bosnia Herzegovina and France-Finland matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers will be played in


After the Euro (June 11-July 11), the French team will return to the provinces.

Then the Blues will host Finland six days later, on Tuesday September 7, 2021 (8.45 p.m.), at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon-Décines.

Between these two meetings at home, the Habs will travel to Ukraine on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Reigning world champion, France is currently leading Group D in the qualifiers.

With seven points after three games played (a 1-1 draw against the Ukrainians, two wins 2-0 Kazakhstan and 1-0 in Bosnia-Herzegovina), it is ahead of Ukraine (3 points).

France has already played three times in its history in Strasbourg.

His last appearance at the Meinau stadium dates back to May 29, 1996 against Finland (2-0) in a preparatory match for Euro 1996. It will be the 11th time that the Blues will play in Lyon, first at the Gerland stadium until 2009, then at Groupama Stadium in Lyon-Décines during the last two meetings against Ireland in the round of 16 of Euro 2016 (2-1), then the United States in 2018, just before the start of the Russian World Cup (1-1).
