At least the Roma had the chance for the miracle

AS Roma had to make up at least four goals in the Europa League against Manchester United. She had the chance to do so, but United keeper De Gea prevented greater tension in the second half.

Manchester United are in the final of the Europa League.

After the decisive 6: 2 in the first leg against AS Roma, United reached a 2: 3 (0: 1) defeat at Roma in the second leg.

Edinson Cavani scored in a promising game for United (39th minute, 68th), Edin Dzeko (57th), Bryan Cristante (60th) and Nicola Zalewski (83th) for Roma.

Both teams played mostly without midfield, attack attempts were initiated from the defensive ranks, before it went back in the other direction.

The midfielders stormed with them.

This at least created an entertaining game.

The fact that it was not as scoring as the first leg was due to the failure of both teams to exploit opportunities.

In the first half, United in particular gave their chances provocatively frivolous: Once Cavani lifted free in front of Roma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante on the crossbar (20th).

Then Mason Greenwood carefully headed in the middle to Bruno Fernandes, who would have had time to control the ball differently, but would rather lay across the air to try a so-called "Scorpion Kick" with the hoe.

He didn't hit the ball (45th).

Rome was also dangerous offensively, but hardly as imperative in the first round.

The lead by Cavani was logical, this time before Mirante he finished with the full span (39th).

The one goal at break was in contrast to the first half, both teams could not have complained about at least three goals.

Not more stable in the second run either

And in the second round, the defensive chains of both teams did not act safer.

On the contrary: United allowed one big chance after the other, despite or perhaps because of the relaxed starting position.

First Dzeko headed a direct decrease from Pedro from close range into the goal (57th), then United midfielder Fred screwed up a heel trick in his own penalty area, Bryan Cristante completed the far corner (60th).

Should the Roma really come up again?

They had the chance to do so, but De Gea prevented first against Dzeko and Pedro (61st), then against Mkhitaryan (62nd).

Cavani was the mood killer with his second goal (68th), he had already hit twice in the first leg.

Rome scored the winning goal from Nicola Zalewski, but that didn't change anything at the end of the semi-finals (83rd).

In the final United will meet FC Villarreal, which eliminated Arsenal FC in the second semi-final and prevented two English finals in both European competitions.
