You can go again: Moosburg's ice hackers under the age of 14 have started their summer training.

However, there are a few rules you have to follow.

Moosburg

- The loosening of the Bavarian state government makes it possible: This week all teams with children under 14 years of age at EV Moosburg started the season preparation, the so-called summer training. On Tuesday, U13 coach Ilker Eris welcomed some of his young protégés to the first outdoor exercise unit on the football field at the waterworks. “Finally!” As he and the kids agreed. It is true that contactless sports have to keep their distance, and the groups can contain a maximum of five under 14-year-olds, but that is better than nothing.

EVM youth leader Verena Hölzl had left it up to the coaches of the U15, U13, U11, U9 and U7 teams whether they wanted to use this opportunity now - and everyone wanted to.

Only the U 15 have to wait because some of them are not allowed to be there for reasons of age.

Therefore, training continues only online so as not to exclude anyone.

There was cyber training all winter long

For the Moosburg ice hockey kids, summer training starts very early this year.

But of course that comes in handy after the almost completely canceled 2020/21 season.

Cyber training was organized throughout the winter.

But the children simply lacked personal contact, community and togetherness, says Hölzl.

U13 coach Eris already has a plan for how the coming weeks should go: “In the beginning there is fun in movement.

But of course with a bit of a pull behind it, so that the children's basic fitness is built up again, ”says the 30-year-old instructor.

And further: “I will also bring in the playful component again and again as soon as it is allowed with soccer or dodgeball.

Because every form of play brings us further on the ice.

Things like staying in motion, offering yourself or playing together are important. "

Preparation should run without major interruptions until the end of summer

The young trainer sees a real challenge for the children who had to switch from the small to the large ice rink in 2020 and have hardly played there so far. Great commitment is required from the players. In any case, Eris wants to do his preparatory training until the end of summer without major breaks in vacation - and hopes that an ice rink will be available in Moosburg as early as August.

Youth leader Verena Hölzl already has to give the association a rough overview of the number of children at the EVM these days.

The binding registration of the teams is then scheduled for June 1st.

Hölzl is in good spirits that there will be as many as last season.

Because compared to the previous year, there were hardly any departures among children under 15 years of age despite Corona.

And although the running school for beginners only took place three times in autumn 2020, five new children could be recruited for this play year among the smallest in the U7.

Older teams are likely to rely on syndicates

Nonetheless, the EVM will continue to rely on syndicates for the older youth teams in the coming season.

For the U 15, if possible, the cooperation with the EV Landshut should be continued.

The club will also be on the lookout for partners for the U17 and U20 syndicates.
