Mattéo Guendouzi's season is already over, as Hertha Berlin confirmed this Friday by press release.
It is therefore already certain that the French midfielder, captain of the Bleuets, will let his comrades play without him the final phase of the Euro Espoirs in Hungary, at the end of the month (May 31 - June 6).
It was he who should have led the Bleuets against the Netherlands, in the quarterfinals of the competition, on May 31.
Sadly, the 22-year-old Arsenal player on loan from Hertha Berlin suffers from a broken metatarsal on his right foot.
Thursday, during the victory of his Hertha Berlin against Freiburg (3-0) in the Bundesliga, Guendouzi left the field a few minutes before half-time, supported by two members of the Berlin staff.
"Mattéo Guendouzi is sidelined for the rest of the season," said the German club.
Examinations confirmed that the midfielder suffered a metatarsal fracture.
Heal yourself quickly, Matteo!

Holder in his club, the former Lorient has played 24 league games this season.
He will therefore miss the last four games of the season, while Hertha Berlin, 14th but tied on points with play-off Arminia Bielefeld, set out to stay in the Bundesliga.
Camavinga or Aouar to replace him?
Beyond the German championship, the injury of the former young PSG player is very prejudicial to him, as well as to the French hopefuls team, in which he played a key role in qualifying during the phase initial euro at the end of March. In his absence, Sylvain Ripoll, the Bleuets coach, hopes to be able to rely on the young Rennes prodigy Eduardo Camavinga or the Lyonnais Houssem Aouar, if these two players are, as in March, left at his disposal by Didier Deschamps who communicates his list May 18. It should, moreover, still be the case this time.
With this injury Guendouzi sees, moreover, his participation in the Olympic tournament in Tokyo (July 21-August 7), called into question. As a reminder, the Hopes are already deprived of another framework in the person of the Niçois Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, victim of a serious knee injury, for this competition.
