Chinese businessman James Zhou has been officially appointed president of AJ Auxerre, 6th in Ligue 2, in which he is the majority shareholder, replacing Francis Graille, AJA announced on Monday. Zhou took control of the icaunais club in 2016 through his food packaging company ORG Technology, which he founded in 1994, which is listed on the stock exchange and which he chairs. Graille (66), former manager of Lille (1999-2002) and Paris Saint-Germain (2003-2005), remains on the board of directors of the simplified joint stock company (SAS) of AJ Auxerre, which he chaired since 2017. With one day remaining in the championship, AJA is two points behind Paris FC, 5th in the race to qualify for the play-offs ofaccession to Ligue 1. The return to the elite, which the club left in 2012, has been James Zhou's goal since 2016.
