Real Madrid, competing in the Spanish Football League, announced today that midfielder Toni Kroos is currently undergoing self-isolation after coming into contact with a person with Covid 19.
Real added that the German international's tests came negative.
"Real Madrid announces that our player Toni Kroos is currently undergoing self-isolation after contact with a person with Covid 19 virus, although all the tests that the player underwent were negative," the club said in a statement.
According to the isolation procedures, Kroos will miss Sunday's match against Athletic Bilbao, and his participation against Villarreal on the last day of the season is also suspected as Real will struggle to retain the title.
His teammate in midfield Federico Valverde went into self-isolation last month before he tested positive.
Real are two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
