The Syrian national football team begins a closed training camp tomorrow in Al-Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus, in preparation for the resumption of the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Asian Cup in China 2023.

Goalkeepers Ibrahim Alima, Khaled Ibrahim and Abdul Latif Al Naasan will join the camp, in addition to the players Hussain Jaweed, Youssef Al Hamwi, Moamen Naji, Muhammad Anz and Muhammad Rehaniya, while the rest of the players will join after the end of the various leagues in which they participate and after the participation of Al-Wehda and Tishreen clubs in the AFC Cup competition.

Last Wednesday, the coach of the national team, Nabil Maaloul, announced an expanded list of players who will participate in the Asian qualifiers, which includes 35 players in anticipation of any injury that may be exposed to the professional players or participants in the AFC Cup.

The list includes Ibrahim Alama, Ahmed Madaniya, Taha Musa, Abdul Latif Al Naasan, Khaled Ibrahim, goalkeeper, Hussein Jaweed, Youssef Al Hamwi, Moayad Al Ajjan, Khaled Kordagli, Moamen Naji, Ahmed Al Saleh, Amr Midani, Faris Arnaout, Thaer Karuma, Youssef Mohamed, Abdel Razzaq Mohamed, Abdullah Al Shami, Mohamed Anz, Simon Amin, Kamel Hamisha. Othman, Maher Daaboul, Ahmed Al-Ashqar, Muhammad Othman, Muhammad Rihaniyyah, Usama Omri, Muhammad al-Marmur, Ward al-Salama, Muhammad al-Hallaq, Mahmoud al-Mawas, Mardik Mardikian, Omar al-Somah, Abdul Rahman Barakat, Alauddin Daly and Mahmoud al-Bahr.

Our team will also hold an external training camp in Dubai on the twentieth of this month as part of the final preparations for the remaining qualifying matches, as it will meet with the Maldives on the seventh of next June and with the teams of Guam and China on the eleventh and fifteenth of the same month.

The International Federation and the Asian Football Confederation had decided to postpone the joint Asian qualifiers for the World Cup and Asia finals until June due to the Corona pandemic, noting that our team has fifteen points in the qualifiers, which they won from five victories over the Philippines 5-2, the Maldives 2-1 and Guam 4- Zero, China 2-1, and the Philippines 2-1 again.
