Tishreen and Al-Wehda have completed their preparations for the opening of their AFC Cup, which will start next Friday.
The conclusion was held in the preparations of the Syrian football representatives in the Asian competition, which will be in a friendly match between them today at 5 pm at Al-Fayhaa Stadium in Damascus, after which the Al-Wahda team will head to the Bahraini capital, Manama, to compete in the second group, which includes the Bahraini border and the Lebanese Al-Ahd, who holds the title of the last version of the tournament.
As for Tishreen's team, it will head to the Jordanian capital Amman to compete in the third group, which includes the Jordanian Al-Faisali, the Palestinian Al-Amari youth, and the Kuwaiti Kuwait, with whom they will compete in the opening meeting next Friday.
Tishreen coach Maher Bahri said in a statement to the SANA sports reporter that the players are technically and physically ready and their spirits are high and they have a great deal of responsibility and they have the determination and will to present an honorable performance and represent the Syrian football well in the Asian competition.
The participating teams were distributed into ten groups, so the teams play within their groups distributed according to geographical regions, as the Competitions Committee of the AFC has followed a new competition system since 2017 by separating West Asian clubs from its East, and the leaders of each group qualify directly to the second round and will join the leaders with the best second place.
