Eintracht Frankfurt stopped in the race for the Champions League on matchday 33.

Due to the 3: 4 (1: 1) in the relegated Schalke club, Frankfurt in fifth place with 57 points is one less than Dortmund in fourth place and three points behind Wolfsburg in third place - but both competitors are still playing tomorrow.

Frankfurt got off to a better start, but was behind for the first time after a quarter of an hour. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar initially failed to Kevin Trapp with a badly placed penalty kick, but then set the rebound into the net (15th minute of the game). Even after falling behind, Frankfurt remained more active, but needed a goalkeeper mistake to equalize. Ralf Fährmann underestimated a cross and couldn't get the ball. Andre Silva was allowed to head into the empty goal (29th).

After the break it got wild.

First Eintracht took the lead through an own goal by Salif Sané (51st), then the bottom of the table turned the game around in a few minutes.

First Blendi Idrizi scored the equalizer in his starting eleven after some nice preparatory work by Huntelaar (53rd), then Florian Flick took the lead (60th).

Just four minutes later, Matthew Hoppe made the decision.

With his second goal, Silva brought Eintracht again (72nd).

The guests couldn't do more.

Bayer Leverkusen will play Europa League next season.

The 1: 1 (1: 0) against Union Berlin means that the Werkself cannot take sixth place.

Union can continue to hope to participate in the Europa Conference after the point, is currently seventh one point ahead of Gladbach.

The first two goals in a game with the initially better chances for Union did not count.

First Patrik Schick used his hand without permission (7th), then Robert Andrich was offside (21st).

Florian Wirtz then only had to push in from short distance when a deflected shot from Wendell landed on him (26).

Union stayed behind even after falling behind, and after the break came Joker Joel Pohjanpalo to equalize (72nd).

Borussia Mönchengladbach threatens to miss the European competition after a disappointing second half.

Due to the 1: 2 (1: 0) against VfB Stuttgart, the foals are only eighth, one point behind Union Berlin in seventh place.

In an initially even game with few good chances, Gladbach's captain Lars Stindl gave the foals the lead shortly before the break (45th). The best German goalscorer (13 goals) this season took the lead with his head. After the break, Gladbach had a good chance of a second goal, but the goals scored the guests. Wataru Endo (72nd) and Sasa Kalajdzic punished the hosts' weakness in the final (78th).

The German champions did not win their penultimate game of the current season. Bayern Munich played 2-2 (1-1) at SC Freiburg. Striker Robert Lewandowski scored not only the lead, but also his 40th goal of the season (26th). He drew level with Bayern legend Gerd Müller. The Munich team also improved its own Bundesliga record in Freiburg. For the 34th time in a row they met away from home. No team had succeeded in doing this before.

The game was dominated by the possible goal record in a Bundesliga season.

The regular penalty taker Lewandowski insisted on taking the penalty, which could bring him into the Bundesliga history books again.

While the guests were happy for their goalscorer, the Freiburg team equalized.

Manuel Gulde hit his head after a corner, also because opponent Niklas Süle let him out of sight (29th).

Only after the break did the guests develop good chances to score again.

Serge Gnabry's goal was withdrawn due to an offside position (51 '), and two minutes later Leroy Sane took the lead.

Christian Günther managed to equalize (81st), before both teams had left some good chances.
