Beşiktaş is Turkish football champion for the 16th time.
In an exciting final, the Istanbul top club prevailed against city rivals Galatasaray with the same number of points and a goal difference that was one goal worse.
The direct comparison of both teams is also balanced.
It is the first title for Beşiktaş under coach Sergen Yalçın since 2017.
At Göztepe Izmir, Beşiktaş won 2: 1 (1: 1) after an interim equalization.
Croatian Domagoj Vida gave Beşiktaş the lead (10th minute), Alspaslan Öztürk equalized (24th).
In the flash table, Galatasaray temporarily passed before Rachid Ghezzal shot his club to the championship with a converted penalty (69th).
Galatasaray won in the parallel game 3-1 (0-1) against Yeni Malatyasport and had turned a deficit by Adem Büyük (39th) with goals from Halil Dervişoğlu (53rd) and Ryan Babel (60th).
Galatasaray did not succeed more than the decision by Oğulcan Cağlayan (90th), especially since the record champions were still missing two goals for first place: With the same goal difference, the goals scored decide, Beşiktaş had scored nine more goals in the end.
It has never been so close between the city rivals
There had never been such a close constellation between the three top Istanbul clubs before the last match day.
Because Fenerbahçe also had chances of winning the title with two points behind the matchday: The late 2: 1 (0: 1) in the table-17.
But Kayserispor was not enough to intervene again in the fight for the title.
Last season, Başakşehir FK became champions for the first time.
The favorite club of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ended this season in twelfth place.
