Hamburger SV will play in the 2nd Bundesliga again in the coming season.

After a 1: 2 (1: 1) at VfL Osnabrück, Hamburg have no chance of making it into the top three one matchday before the end of the season.

Christian Santos headed Osnabrück into the lead (34th minute), HSV youngster Robin Meißner equalized from almost 20 meters (37th).

After the break, Maurice Multhaup put the relegation-threatened Osnabrück team in the front again (61st).

HSV, which would only have remained in the race for promotion with one win, drew hope again after Tim Leibold's equalizing goal (82nd) - but this only lasted two minutes before Marc Heider scored the third Osnabrück goal (84th).

Osnabrück (33 points) moved up to the relegation place 16. Eintracht Braunschweig in 17th place (31 points), SV Sandhausen in 15th place (34 points) and Jahn Regensburg in 14th place (35 points) also fight on the last day of the game still about relegation.

Holstein Kiel missed the premature promotion to the Bundesliga.

In the away game at Karlsruher SC, Kiel lost 3-2 (1-0).

Kiel was initially still in the lead: striker Janni Serra scored 1-0 after a solo (41st).

After the break, the North Germans, for whom it was the eighth competitive game within 22 days after a two-week corona quarantine, the dwindling strength was fatal: Malik Batmaz equalized for Karlsruhe (52nd), Philipp Hofmann's double (60th / 76th). ) turned the game in favor of KSC.

Alexander Mühling only managed the connection goal with a penalty, previously Karlsruhe's Philip Heise Kiel's Finn Porath had fouled (84th).

Before the last match day, when the Kielers will play a home game against Darmstadt 98, Kiel is in second place with 62 points.

At least the relegation was guaranteed before the game day.

Greuther Fürth achieved the best result of the day of the promotion candidates at SC Paderborn with a 4: 2 (2: 2).

In a spectacular game, an own goal by Fürth's Paul Jaeckel had initially put the Paderborn in the lead (22nd), while the Fürth storm duo Havard Nielsen (28th) and Branimir Hrgota (42nd) turned the game before the break whistle.

In the half-time it went with a draw anyway: Chris Führich flicked the ball into the far corner (45th).

Prior to this, template providers Sven Michel and Fürth's Maximilian Bauer had painfully collided with their heads in the fight for the ball.

Bauer was replaced at the break, Michel continued to play.

Immediately after the break, Paul Seguin took advantage of a lack of concentration in the Paderborn defense to re-lead Fürth (47th), Dickson Abiama increased shortly before the final whistle (90th + 6th).

This means that the Franks have 61 points on their account and are in third place.

On the last day of the match, Fürth Fortuna Düsseldorf receives - should the competition fail, the Fürth team can still achieve direct promotion.

VfL Bochum also missed the chance to make the promotion early, but they still have the best starting position.

The 1: 1 (0: 1) at 1. FC Nürnberg kept Bochum at the top of the table.

Georg Margreitter headed the hosts into the lead after a corner (38th).

After the weak first half, VfL increased after the break and came through Robert Zulj to the well-deserved compensation (76th).

In the final phase, the Bochumers were closer to the winning goal, but have to wait until the last game day.

A draw in the home game against Sandhausen would then be enough for direct promotion.
