No, Erding is definitely not the football stronghold in the district.
The city proves this even in the days without football.
But what do you mean without a football?
That's where the problem lies.
Because while in Moosinning, Schwaig, Isen, Lengdorf, Dorfen, Finsing.
Taufkirchen or Wartenberg (actually everywhere we asked) the children finally start playing again, the places in the city have to remain empty.
But that's not because of the clubs.
Their volunteer trainers have already happily packed their sports bags after the state government allowed outdoor sports for 20 children under the age of 14. The good news from the State Chancellery was almost two weeks ago, the district administrative authority gave the go-ahead on Monday. But clubs still have to put their players off (unless they are trained out of ignorance or against better knowledge).
The reason: the city's sports facilities are still closed. The city administration said that the hygiene concept had to be readjusted. But don't the other municipalities have to do the same? “The devil is in the details,” says city spokesman Christian Wanninger. “We have very different sports facilities that have to be considered individually.” The complete hygiene concept - apparently for outdoor facilities and halls - should be ready by the middle of next week. Let's take credit for the administration that they also have to look after the new multi-purpose hall at the same time, but the priorities should have been set differently.
Let's stay optimistic: If you can really play again from Tuesday, then the training deficit is not that big compared to the district competition. So there is no reason why Erding does not become a football power after all ... oh, let's leave that.
