The joy of being named “Player of the Season” did not last long for Sascha Mölders. On Tuesday afternoon it became known that the control committee of the DFB is now investigating the lion captain. The accusation is in the room: Suspicion of unsportsmanlike conduct. As reported, Mölders, 36, gave an interview after the third division against Bayern II (2: 2) in which he attacked opponent Maxi Welzmüller in a rude manner. “Next year you're in the Regionalliga Bayern, Spacko,” Mölders had scolded in front of the cameras.
The control committee asked Mölders to comment.
As soon as this is available and evaluated, a decision will be made on the further progress of the procedure.
The lions will fight on Saturday (1.30 p.m.) in a direct duel at FC Ingolstadt for a place in the promotion relegation.
A possible ban would also apply in the relegation.
