Financially, SV Kranzberg is in good shape despite Corona.

The number of members is a cause of concern - but this is not due to the pandemic.

Kranzberg

- After nine years it's over: Martin Hohenester is no longer chairman of the Kranzberg sports club.

On Saturday he did not appear at the SVK's first virtual general meeting.

His successor is Anton Hierhager.

He received 190 of the 216 votes cast in the vote, which was also carried out virtually and in advance.

17 members voted no, seven abstained.

Hierhager spoke of a "wonderful result".

“Live audience is irreplaceable”, Hohenester regretted that, for known reasons, it was not possible to meet in the familiar, cozy atmosphere.

But not only the general meeting, but also all the months since the beginning of 2020 had been “overshadowed” by one topic, Hohenester looked back.

While the tennis players were the only department who were able to pursue their passion almost continuously, for example with the stick shooters it was said: "Sentence with x, there was nothing."

Successor to "James" Neumayr chosen

There was light and shadow in the football department: While the men's first team celebrated their promotion to the district league in 2019, the women's football team had to be de-registered in the same year, recalled the outgoing chairman.

And he had another important football event to announce: Long-time department head Martin "James" Neumayr resigned from his post, and Michael Kopp was named his successor last Thursday.

According to Hohenester, nothing has fundamentally changed in the somewhat difficult coaching situation at SV Kranzberg.

Finding people to take on such a role is difficult: "The situation is getting worse from year to year."

The Kranzberg footballers already elected a new department manager on Thursday: (from left) Pascal Hohberger (youth leader and referee chairman), Stephan Schikowski (2nd department manager and public relations), Michael Kopp (1st department manager), Bastian Walter (3rd department manager) and Christian Peis (sports director).

Precisely this - and, as Hohenester emphasized, not Corona - led to a decline in the number of members: While the SVK had 824 members on March 1, 2019, a year later it was only 768.

On March 1, 2021, there were still 742 names in the membership directory.

The football department (minus 35) and the bodyfit area (minus 20) would have suffered the greatest loss.

37 percent of the members are female.

The restrictions during the corona pandemic were severe, but also necessary, emphasized Hohenester, who, however, is also certain in view of the light at the end of the tunnel: "We will be back." Even after his era, which was in 1998 started when he held a managerial position at the SVK for the first time.

Mayor Hermann Hammerl also viewed the future positively: The SVK is a "supporting pillar" in the community when it comes to sport, he assumes that the opportunities for sporting activities and social events will soon be greater again.

A good future for the SVK is unlikely to fail due to its finances: The year 2019 ended with a plus of 25,000 euros, in 2020 there was an increase of 20,000 euros, as Hohenester explained.

This is how the new board of directors is composed

In addition to Anton Hierhager, the new management team of SV Kranzberg now consists of 2nd chairman Wolfgang Badhorn (204 votes), 1st treasurer Sandra Silingas (203), 2nd treasurer Christoph Hierhager (207), secretary Richard Hammerl (210) and the two auditors Petra Horneber (212) and Nadja Hierhager (199).

To everyone's regret, the honors for long-term membership had to be held virtually on Saturday: Hans Vierthaler has been loyal to the SVK for no less than 60 years, Klaus-Peter Grottenthaler, Anton Märkl, Johann Oberauer, Benno Rottenfusser, Franz Schafstadler, Anton Eisen, Lothar Frühbeis, Sylvester Gamperl, Wilhelmine Liss and Josef Riedl were awarded for half a century of association membership.

There is great hope that in 2023 we will be able to celebrate properly and live again: that is when the SVK will be 75 years old.

"We have to celebrate again after the gloomy times," emphasized the new chairman Anton Hierhager.
