Simon Maucher (25) and Daniel Holzmann (25) have each given their approval. Both players learned how to ice hockey together at EA Schongau "and are now part of the backbone of the Bayern league team at the best ice hockey age," said EAS spokesman Gerhard Siegl.
Striker Maucher will complete his seventh season in the Bayern league team of the "Mammuts" next winter.
The attacker "is not one of those players who have to be measured at the scorer points, but whose work on the ice and in the cabin is extremely important for the functioning of the team," said Siegl.
In the 2011/2012 season Maucher, then 16 years old, made his debut in the senior teams of the EAS.
Then he played abroad, at EV Füssen (DNL) and EC Peiting (DNL2).
In 2015 Maucher returned to EAS and made it to the Bayern League with the team.
Since his return, the striker has completed 107 games for the “Mammuts”, according to the portal “Elite Prospects”, scoring 57 points (25 goals / 32 assists).

Defender Daniel Holzmann moved to Peiting when he was young, played there in the Junior Bundesliga and DNL 2 and also made several appearances in the upper league. Like Maucher, he moved back to his home club in the 2015/2016 season. The 1.90 meter tall defensive player “with his running and technical skills also creates danger on the offensive,” said Siegl. Since 2015, Holzmann has collected 47 scorer points (17 goals / 30 assists) in 93 games for the EAS. The early end of the 2020/2021 season due to the corona was not too much of a misfortune for the native of Lower Saxony. Because of his master craftsman training, he would only have been available to the team to a limited extent anyway.
