A double somersault for history
Simone Biles made an impression by producing an unprecedented figure in an official setting.
The five-time Olympic medalist completed a “Yourchenko” jump in a double back-body pike salto.
A sequence carried out with such speed and power in its course, that it retreated slightly at the time of reception.
“I was just thinking that I had to do it like in training, not overdoing it, because I tend, as soon as I put my hand on my run up, to want to dominate everything.
I did it a bit, but at least I was still on my feet at the end and then it's another jump, ”she commented.
“It's nice to see all this support,” she continued, adding that she felt “confident” as the US Championships approach, which will take place June 3-6. They will be followed by the US Olympic selections from June 24 to 27. Who knows what she has in store for these next two dates?
