Operated on the right knee last October, the French center-half has returned to training with the hope of playing big

It's time for the recovery for Nikola Karabatic.

According to information from the Team, the French international has resumed training with the pro group of Paris-SG handball this Saturday, May 22.

An expected return for the one who underwent an operation for a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee, on October 28.

After participating in warm-ups, the two-time Olympic champion regained the intensity of training with the reserve team.

He is now back in Raúl González Gutiérrez's group.

Champions League and Olympics in the sights

After more than six months of inactivity, the eldest of the Karabatic brothers must first find the lost sensations of the high level.

But the 37-year-old remains energized for a thrilling end to the season.

Leader with three games less than its runner-up Montpellier, PSG is in a good position to win a seventh Starligue in a row.

But the Parisians, who fell from Kiel in the return quarter-final, are new contenders for the European Cup, with a Final Four to play on June 12 and 13, near Cologne (Germany). The 1.96m player could win the trophy for the fourth time in his career with a fourth different club, after Montpellier (2003), Kiel (2007) and Barcelona (2015). The center-half with more than 300 selections must imperatively regain his best level before approaching the Olympic Games in Tokyo (July 23-August 7). The preparation of the Blues must begin on June 23 in Créteil. Coach Guillaume Gille will have to communicate his list no later than July 5.
