Erding - The Kickboxing Club (KBV) Erding has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in the past few days.

Children were allowed to train outdoors, the outdoor training for adults was originally supposed to start this week.

However, the face-to-face sport had to be canceled at very short notice on Monday due to new, stricter rules.

Now, however, the contact-free training can start next Tuesday (we reported).

For three weeks now, young members under the age of 14 have been training again at the Erdinger KBV-Sportheim. In the first week of May, the children were divided into three groups of five, reports Lena Klupp. In the meantime, 20 people are allowed in a group in the open air. Participants must register in advance using a doodle list, there is no compulsory test. Older members have so far only been able to participate in the KBV online training. Finally there was a perspective through the Corona regulations of May 12th.

With a negative test and other hygiene measures, the kickboxing club wanted to start again with daily outdoor training for adults last Monday. "The anticipation was great," says Lena Klupp, who threw herself into the preparations with her father Heinz, Peter Lutzny and other coaches. However, it turned out differently. As early as Sunday noon it leaked out that the larger outdoor training of adults is probably not allowed after all. The club was only able to clarify this on Monday afternoon. The members received the relevant information an hour and a half before the first announced training: Only five participants from two households are allowed! "We were incredibly sorry for the members," says Lena Klupp about the short-term cancellation of the appointment.

Her hope for relaxation for the sport finally came true in the following days. If the weekly incidence in the district remains below 50, there is also no need to test there, explains Lena Klupp. And there is also a new perspective for adult kickboxing. On Wednesday, the association announced that contact-free outdoor training without compulsory testing will probably take place from next week - if the Erdinger incidence remains permanently below 50.

For children, outdoor sports are already working successfully. From Monday to Friday there are two training hours a day for fighting cats and the somewhat older all-stylers. Often all 20 places are occupied, Lena Klupp informs, unless - as when visiting the press - bad weather is announced. The KBV has installed a canopy and a windbreak to protect against light rain. "We were really happy to see the children again after a good six months," reports Lena Klupp. The response from the participants is similar, as confirmed by the survey by the local newspaper (see left). "The children come out beaming, are totally happy here and are happy about the social contacts," she informs. Peter Lutzny adds: "The feedback from the parents is phenomenal."

However, the daily new resolutions and rules are somewhat onerous for the KBV.

The loosening of the fitness studios also shows how quickly such requirements have to be implemented.

On Wednesday evening, the KBV did not have the details of the weight room opening on Friday.

"You have to check every day in the morning whether the previous day is still up to date," says Lena Klupp.

The kickboxers hope that the incidence values will continue to develop positively.
