Actually, Juventus would rather start in the Super League than in the Champions League. But then they were happy about the qualification for the football premier class. Ronaldo just sat on the bench.

Juventus did reach a Champions League place in the season finale of the Italian Serie A.

The Turin team won 4-1 (3-0) in Bologna and jumped to fourth place because SSC Napoli did not get beyond a 1-1 (0-0) against Hellas Verona in the parallel game.

Four days after winning the Cup, the game in Bologna was decided in favor of Juventus at break.

Federico Chiesa (6th minute), Álvaro Morata (29th, 47th) and Adrien Rabiot (45th) scored for the Bianconeri.

Riccardo Orsolini scored a consolation goal (85th).

Cristiano Ronaldo sat on the bench for 90 minutes in the decisive game, the superstar is supposed to be contemplating a change and recently showed poor performance.

Juve's big win would have been useless if Napoli had won in addition to Milan.

Because AC Milan won 2-0 (1-0) at Atalanta, Naples slipped to fifth place and had to go to the Europa League next year.

Inter and Bergamo had already secured a place in the Champions League before matchday 38.

Missing the Champions League would have been dramatic

Missing the Champions League would have been all the more dramatic for Juventus this season because the teams are even more dependent on money from international business due to the loss of income in the corona crisis.

Juventus and other top European clubs are burdening heavy debts.

It is still unclear whether Juventus will actually be allowed to compete in the Champions League.

Because the club is one of the driving forces behind the Super League, Uefa launched an investigation.

The athletic qualification for the Champions League is at least a partial success for novice coach Andrea Pirlo, who surprisingly took over in August.

Pirlo had been appointed head coach without a previous coaching position and had come under fire in recent weeks after Juventus had previously won the title for nine years in a row.
