The Pass'Sport eagerly awaited by sports associations

While sporting activities have just resumed in Île-de-France, the clubs are already preparing for the start of September. With the Pass'Spo

Launched a week ago by Emmanuel Macron in person, accompanied by two top sponsors - former footballer Laure Boulleau and ex-basketball player Tony Parker - the Pass'Sport is already causing a lot of expectations among hundreds of sports associations in Île-de-France.

"It is an excellent initiative which should help the clubs to find a little more members, judge already Claude Michel, the president of the volleyball club of Sartrouville (Yvelines).

The effect could be twofold: to help our licensees to come back in September and to attract other young people who have not yet been touched.

"

The Pass'Sport will allow families to save 50 euros per child.

Affected by health measures which have sometimes forced them to close their doors, Ile-de-France clubs have seen their number of members drop (up to 30%).

To help them get started again at the start of the school year and to allow children from the most modest families, also affected by the crisis, to play sport, the State is setting up the Pass'Sport.

This coupon of 50 euros, valid in almost all sports associations affiliated to a Federation, will be deducted from the amount of the membership fee.

Above all, it can be combined with the various measures already put in place for several years by the various communities: the Pass'Sport Oise (15 euros for children under 18 without income conditions), the + 92 pass (80 euros for sport and culture activities) or CAF vouchers (for 6-14 year olds).

"The young people will come back next school year"

Even if the crisis has damaged their cash flow, the clubs will also put their hands in their pockets.

"We will offer a credit of 50 euros to all our members who have been penalized by the closures, to be used on the next contribution," announces Audrey Prieto, president of the multisport club of the US Metro.

Many of our practitioners come with families, and although we offer sliding scale prices, we know that it is financially complicated.

"

The US Metro has lost half of its members, but intends to find them.

“Out of the 37 sections, around ten were able to function more or less normally.

For others, like karate, wrestling, badminton or table tennis, the impact is enormous.

We voted for a recovery plan of 105,000 euros, because we believe that it is essential that people find social links, and sport plays this role.

The US Metro thus offers licenses at 80 euros or 100 euros which will allow you to practice physical activity all summer.

"At the start of the 2020 school year, we had welcomed a lot of new people, in particular 45 girls aged 15 to 18, we feel a real appetite for volleyball and I think that the young people will come back next school year, underlines Claude Michel, from the club of Sartrouville. I am more worried about the adults who during the crisis took other habits, in particular by practicing a sporting activity by themselves. "

No device is planned for them. “Of course we would have liked the state to go beyond 50 euros per young, but it is already a gesture, said Audrey Prieto. Side clubs, we hope that the device will be easy to set up. It will be up to us to make the cash advance

(Editor's note: with the Pass'Sport the family pays 50 euros less to the club, which will be reimbursed)

and I hope that the State will pay us the money quickly. "
